Kena Halliburton has extensive knowledge, with more than 15 years of experience, in the areas of budget development and grant compliance. She possesses strong planning and organization skills. She oversaw District budget development for Detroit Public Schools Community District Central Office leaders including for private, non-public schools and individual grants. She coordinated with MDE to ensure compliance with state and federal grant programs, including equitable services program. She supervised state and federal grant programs to ensure budget alignment with allowable activity, District strategic priorities, and department initiatives.

Kena will help recipients with financial planning and budget development. Over the past years, she has earned high job performance ratings as Senior Director in the Office of Finance. She is currently Senior Director of Grant Compliance in the Office of Finance for Detroit Public Schools Community District.

Her education includes a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan.
